چکیده

Background and Aims: Tuberculosis (TB) is severe infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis imposes significant morbidity mortality. Early diagnosis of active TB forms pulmonary extrapulmonary very important the diagnostic methods such as culture test Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) stain displayed low accuracy. Cartridge-based nucleic acid amplification (CBNAAT) widely used for with good accuracy rate. Hence, current study was commenced to assess usefulness CBNAAT mycobacterium (MTB) compared ZN staining. Methods: This a prospective conducted on 250 sputum samples (new cases) also patients who were receiving treatment TB. 5 mL sample including CSF, pericardial or ascitic fluid, pus, lymph nodes aspirates collected subjected staining CBNAAT. Results: Mean age observed 48.12±8.76 years. 30 (12%) showed smear positive 220 (88%) negative Further, have been 60 (24%) MTB positive, 190 (74%) negative. sensitivity specificity 91.5% 89%. Out positives CBNAAT, has identified in 28 patients. Conclusion: great tool early

TUBERCULOSIS Current evidence on diagnostic accuracy of commercially based nucleic acid amplification tests for the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis

Background: Even though commercial nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) have become the most frequently used molecular tests for laboratory diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), published studies report variable estimates of their diagnostic accuracy. We analysed the accuracy of commercial NAATs for the diagnosis of pulmonary TB in smear positive and smear negative respiratory samples u...
